AdminConnect is a help-desk tool for use in the Azure Virtual Desktop environment.

It has support for both Classic and ARM environments.

It provides easy to use functions for administrators and help desk staff to be able to assist remote users by granting the capability to easily shadow users, send messages to one or many, and remotely disconnect or log off bugged sessions at the click of a button. With the new AdminConnect Agent, the program can now display session performance statistics right in the main UI, including round trip time, available bandwidth, jitter and session logon time.

You can also check the status of servers at a glance with the ‘Session Host Settings’ screen, and disable or enable logins to a specific session host. Administrators also have the ability to start, stop or restart session hosts remotely, making maintenance tasks much easier to manage in one spot.

AdminConnect also provides the ability to add and remove users from application groups in just 3 clicks.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I add computers to AdminConnect?

A: Under normal circumstances session hosts will automatically populate. However, if you turn off API usage you may manually type in the hostname of each host in the configuration panel. As long as you are running AdminConnect from within one of the session hosts you will still be able to assist users and connect to the session hosts.

Q: Why can’t I see any users in the table?

A: There are a few reasons why you may not see users, first, make sure you have entered the tenant name and host name correctly in the configuration panel, also make sure that you have entered your Microsoft account info correctly. If you are using this method, make sure that the “Use WVD” button is pressed. If you are not using your Microsoft account, you must be on the same network as the VMs, and make sure that you have entered each hostname into the “Host” table in the configuration page.

Q: I created a trial account. How do I set my password?

A: Once you have created a trial account, you should receive an email from Licensespring, follow the link in that email and you will be able to create a password for login to WVD Assist.

Q: How do I configure the program to use my Azure Virtual Desktop environment?

A: To configure the program to query the WVD service directly. You must fill out the three fields, Deployment URL, Tenant name, and Host Pool with the correct information. You must also enter your WVD admin credentials into the fields to the left. After you have done this you must click “Securely Store” for the program to encrypt and save your credentials for further use.To activate the configuration you mush click “use WVD” and make sure that it is greyed out.

Once you have done this click “Save and Refresh” and your settings, except for your WVD credentials will be saved for use in the future.

Q: How do I use the “Mark Bugged Sessions” button?

A: Use of this feature is restricted to only run if you are on one of the session hosts. When you click the button it will automatically highlight any users in the table which are having issues with their session.
